Dr. Cecil Renaud Overseas Scholarship Grants for South Africans in the UK in 2023

good news Dr. Cecil Renaud is pleased to give deserving South African students who wish to begin their studies in the UK the Cecil Renaud Overseas Scholarship Awards.

The international scholarship, given each year to one or two students, is given for up to two years of post-graduate study (Master’s degree (or equivalent) or PhD) at an institution of the student’s choosing in the United Kingdom.

What the Cecil Renaud Overseas Scholarship is about
We have given 28 scholarships to the most talented young South Africans since 1994. Students who have received the Scholarship in the past have studied in a variety of subjects at universities such as the University of Cambridge, the University of Oxford, and the University of London, among others. Only students who finished their secondary education at a KwaZulu-Natal school are eligible for this scholarship, and you must be in your last year of a postgraduate honors degree or a four-year undergraduate degree to be eligible.

Entry Requirements
ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE: Applicants must have earned Dean’s Commendations, Certificates of Merit, or the equivalent, in addition to an undergraduate or honours degree cum laude or summa cum laude, or intend to earn one.

FOOTPRINTS: We are seeking applicants who will make a substantial contribution to their field of study as well as to society at large.
SECONDARY SCHOOL IN KZN ATTENDERED: Candidates must be younger than 27 at the time of application and must have completed the majority of their secondary education in KwaZulu-Natal.
ATTENDING A SOUTH AFRICAN UNIVERSITY: Postgraduate students who have earned or are pursuing an honors degree or a four-year undergraduate degree are eligible for the scholarship.
A strong track record in extracurricular activities and a desire to achieve and improve South Africa are evidence of focus, commitment, stamina, and leadership.
